Marketing for trades owners who were referred to us

If your accountant, lawyer or lender suggested you call us, here is exactly what happens next: a free consultation, a written plan, and marketing work you can stop with 30 days' notice.

If you're reading this because your accountant, lawyer or lender mentioned us, welcome. The referral doesn't commit you to anything. It means someone who knows your business thought a marketing conversation might help. Here's what that conversation looks like, and what happens if you decide to go further.

What this service is

It is marketing for Ontario trades businesses: local search and your Google Business Profile, a website that turns visits into calls, paid search where it makes sense, reviews and reporting. The work is planned around your trade, because urgent trades and project trades win work differently.

We are not a contractor. We don't install, repair or service anything. We're also not your accountant, lawyer or lender, so questions in their areas go back to them.

Who it's for

Owners of established Ontario trades businesses, typically:

  • plumbing, drain and water-heater companies
  • HVAC and heating contractors (our published results come from this trade)
  • electricians and EV-charger installers
  • roofers, eavestrough and siding companies
  • renovators, basement and waterproofing companies
  • landscapers, fencing, decks and paving

If your business is brand new, a smaller first step may suit you better than a monthly plan. We'll tell you if so.

What's included

The consultation

A free 30-minute conversation for eligible trades businesses. We ask about your trade, the area you serve, your typical job value, your busiest and quietest months and where work comes from now.

The review

We look at your Google Business Profile, your website on a phone, your reviews, any ad accounts and how calls are answered. Most problems we find are small and fixable.

The written plan

What we'd do first, what it costs, and how we'd measure it. Plans are the published Trades.Agency plans, month-to-month, cancellable with 30 days' notice.

The work and the reporting

We carry out the plan and send a plain monthly report. If you wish, we format it in the advisor-ready style and copy whoever you choose.

Timeline

Stage Typical timing
First call and consultation Within a few business days of your call
Review and written plan One to two weeks
Quick fixes (listing, phone number, website contact buttons) First month
Paid search results Weeks
Local search and review momentum Three to six months and building

How results are measured

Booked jobs and cost per booked job. Here's the arithmetic we'll walk you through: if your average job is worth $900 and you net about 30% on it, each job contributes $270. If marketing costs $2,000 a month and brings 20 booked jobs, each job costs $100 to win and leaves $170. If it brings only 5, each costs $400 and you're losing money. We'll show you which side of that line you're on every month.

How the referring professional fits in

Your advisor's part ends when they pass on our details, unless you want it to continue. Some owners like their accountant to see the monthly figures, or want their lawyer to receive the list of marketing accounts before a sale. Others prefer to keep marketing separate. Either is fine, and you can change your mind. If any arrangement exists between us and the person who referred you, it is written down, and you can ask to see how it works before deciding anything.

Questions in your advisor's field, such as how to record marketing costs, what an agreement means or how financing works, go back to them. We'll say so rather than guess.

Mistakes we see referred owners make

  • Judging marketing by phone calls alone. Count the calls that became paid jobs.
  • Letting a vendor own your accounts. You should own your domain, website, Google listing and ad accounts. Our digital assets checklist explains why.
  • Buying ads before fixing the basics. If your listing shows the wrong hours, ads just send more people to a closed door.
  • Waiting until the slow season to start. Search visibility takes months, so start while you're still busy.

Our proof comes from results from our HVAC work. Call, text or email when you're ready; mention who referred you if you like.

Frequently asked questions

My accountant suggested you. Does that mean they get paid?

Any arrangement between us and the professional who referred you is written down, and you are told about it. Ask us directly and we'll show you; ask your advisor too. You should never have to guess.

Do I have to share my financial statements with you?

No. We need a few simple figures you already know: what a typical job is worth, roughly how many jobs you do in a month and what you spend on marketing now.

Will you tell my accountant how marketing is going?

Only if you ask us to. You decide who receives your monthly report, and you can change that at any time by call, text or email.

Do you install, repair or service anything?

No. We are not a contractor. We market and advise trades businesses; your crew does the work, and we help the right customers find you.

What if I'm not ready to start?

That's fine. The consultation is free for eligible trades businesses and carries no obligation. Many owners use it to understand their options and come back later.
